[Outdoor crag] Super Beginner Lead Practice Meeting Held at Mt. Washuzu

Beta Climbing Gym | Outdoor crag Seminar/Super beginner lead practice session

On June 10th, Outdoor crag Super Beginner Reed Practice was held at Mt. Washizu.

This time, 8 people had applied, but we told them that the challenges they could climb might be limited due to the rain in the daytime the day before. was canceled, and as a result, 6 people participated.

All participants are women. Unexpectedly, it became “Outdoorcrag Ladies’ Day”.

Although it was a “super beginner” practice session, the participants had a wide range of skills and ages, from strong boulderers to first-time climbers with rental shoes, and everyone was facing their own challenges.
Enjoying the rocks outside for the first time, rappelling and climbing back up, trying on-site for the first time on the route, taking photos and eating cup ramen (laughs)

That’s right, you can do various things in this rocky place.
It is also a rocky place with sports-related challenges where 12 cars were climbed for the first time in Japan, and it has been used for rope work, rappelling, and crampons training by local mountaineering clubs for a long time. It’s a rocky place with a deep nostalgia.

I’m glad that everyone seemed to enjoy Sotoiwa.
I was a little worried about whether it would be held the day before, but I’m really glad I held it!

Oh yeah, “manbo” is “Sunfish” in English!

2023/5/28 [outdoorcrag] Multi-pitch climbing practice meeting held at Yugawara Makuiwa and Goku Slab

Beta Climbing Gym | Sotoiwa Seminar / Multi-pitch climbing

2023/5/28 A multi-pitch climbing practice session was held at Yugawara Makiwa/Goku Slab.
It’s really nice to be able to hold it at the timing before the rainy season.

When the rainy season starts, you can’t have a practice meeting at Sotoiwa.
We will expose the problem outside now, practice indoors during the rainy season, and play outside when the rainy season ends! !
I thought it would be nice if such a flow could be done.

Goku Slab is a 4-pitch slab root. 20-30m per pitch. Climbing itself is not that difficult.
Climbing is not difficult, and the route has a certain length and number of pitches, so you can practice rope work.
And the reward for climbing is the superb view of Sagami Bay and the pleasant sea breeze unique to this season.

It seems that everyone had a fulfilling day, and it was a good day.

2023/5/27 [Outdoor crag] Crack practice meeting held at Ogawayama

Beta Climbing Gym | Outdoor Workshop/Crack Climbing

2023/5/27 Outdoor crack practice meeting was held at Ogawayama.

Since an event was being held at Mawarimedaira, the parking lot was full at around 9:30 and the aisles were full of cars.

As for the crag area… I think it was empty except for the rocks used for the event.
Initially, we headed for Aniiwa, but due to an event being held, we changed our destination to Thumbiwa.
1st party only. . No one came after that.

I thoroughly enjoyed “Ogawayama Layback”, which looks good and has good contents.
There are various ways to climb, such as jamming with a solid crack, or picking up the face with your feet. .
It’s fun with each one.

Did you climb about 3 per person?
Everyone was facing their own challenges, such as camset practice and pseudo leads.

After that, we moved to the last one and had a lot of fun with alpine-chic challenges.

It was a good day to enjoy crack to the fullest.

2023/5/20 [Outdoor crag] Lead practice meeting held at Tennoiwa

Beta Climbing Gym | Sotoiwa Class/Lead Climbing

5/20 A reed practice session was held at Tennoiwa.
I was worried about the condition due to the rain the day before, but I decided to go to the site in hopes that it would be dry before it began to seep out.
In such a case, it is OK to cancel on site, so most of the participants came to the site.

Although the rocks were in a bit of bad condition, I enjoyed the dry routes such as Crackjoy.

For those who were new to Sotoiwa, they enjoyed the feeling of the rocks, route finding, and altitude, which is different from the gym.
The lead first try was firmly lead by crack joy.
I think you generally enjoyed it, but I regret that I didn’t give enough lectures on fulcrum construction.
Let’s continue at the gym’s “rope practice meeting”!

Climbing English is also a topic of conversation among foreigners.
The topic this time is “pseudo lead”. There is a theory that it is a “fake lead”. No, fakes are a little different. .
On the translation site, it is converted to “pseudo lead”, but what do you think?
I’ll check it out next time. Especially multi-term. .

Crack Joy 5.9 ★★★
Wind of Nirvana 5.10b ★★
